As a young company we focus on innovative solutions for known problems. With creative workshops and constant iteration, we create new solution perspectives.
Main features
Even today, companies often have technical drawings on paper or as PDFs. These documents are difficult to process by machine. clous takes over the processing of unstructured data for you in order to make them usable for subsequent automation and engineering processes.
Transformation from 2D drawing to any 3D CAD model
No matter if SolidWorks, CATIA, NX file or neutral exchange formats like STEP, IGES, VRML, …: With clous your data is modeled according to your wishes in the target system - depending on the use case with structure tree and features that enable smooth downstream processing.
Transformation from 3D data into 3D CAD models
clous' algorithms automatically parse out the information from the source file that is needed to create a 3D model. If the application detects an error, the project is completed manually by a vetted expert from the clous Global Workforce.
Hybrid automation of engineering processes
To ensure that the 3D models correspond exactly to the underlying drawings or the 3D data, various quality assurance methods are used: For the 2D-to-3D transformation, a drawing is derived from the 3D model and compared with the original. For the 3D-to-3D transformation, a red/green comparison is used to ensure that the two volumes match. Since we think engineering as a transparent process, we also make this data available to you.
Transparent quality assurance
Reduce delays in your workflow. After file upload, automated modeling of your 3D data begins immediately. With more than 100 vetted engineering talents worldwide, we guarantee delivery of your final data in the shortest possible time.
Data delivery within a few hours
For many companies, investing in their own automation solution is a major financial step. clous facilitates your access to process automation with a user-friendly Pay-Per-Use model. Instead of project-related price calculations or high set-up or maintenance costs, clous offers you fixed prices per use and framework agreements for the duration of a few months with increasing rebates up to one year.

These are geometry-defining specifications:
Leading dimensions: Dimensions that must be taken from the drawing by measuring (because not specified) in order to model.
These are not geometry-defining indications (non-exhaustive list): Surface / machining details, inspection dimensions, shape and position tolerances,
Representations of multiple parts are accounted for as multiple parts. Representations of multiple parts in the assembly context are billed as multiple parts. An assembly CAD model cannot be ordered at present. For welded assemblies, the individual components are also supplied as an overall component group CAD model (1x C1 billed separately).

These are shaping component features:
For largely rotationally symmetrical components such as shafts: Number of steps + bore + recesses + number of machining operations such as drilling and chamfering.
For largely plate/square-shaped components such as plates, angles, bricks, …: Number of basic bodies + machining operations such as holes, pockets, grooves, chamfers, etc. Representations of several components are accounted for as several components
